Survey CAD Technician (Computer)
Long Island based Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Firm, with over 100 years of experience, has an open position for a Survey Technician to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
• Project setup including creating and/or restoring project drawing files and in-house and municipal research at the Village, Town, County and State levels
• Brief and direct crews and cad technicians on their daily tasks
• Understanding survey field notes, and additional survey documents contained within the project file, or available on the internet to complete mapping requirements
• Reduction of field notes
• Perform calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Creating drawing files and the input of maps and deeds including map checks
• Importing of survey data from various sources
• Calculation of complex dimensional site plans and complex foundation plans for layout
• Creation and drafting of Cut Sheets and Stake Diagrams
• Creating work sheets and comp sheets
• Ready surveys for drafting, include north rotations, tie verification, scale and sheet sizes
• Fulfill Minimum Standard Detail Requirements and Optional Survey Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
• Draft maps and surveys as needed
• Understand and implement field and office methods and procedures established by the company
Qualifications
• High School graduate or equivalent
• 4 years’ minimum experience as survey Crew Chief with a demonstrated level of competence
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with various survey instruments and its associated software
• Comprehensive understanding of survey principles, field procedures and equipment
• Ability to work productively, both independently and as a team member
